Could your family answer these?

Tap each question to see why it matters. Notice how many you couldn't answer for the person you love most.

If you hesitated on even one, your family would too.
IvorySafe is the guided way to fix that, without spending a weekend on a spreadsheet.
How IvorySafe works

From overwhelmed to organized.

The important details of your life need to be written down somewhere your family can find them, so that if something happens, they can keep the household running and get your affairs in order without scrambling. IvorySafe makes that simple.

1

Take a personalized quiz

Tell us about your life so we only ask about what's relevant to you.

2

Fill in your vault

Section by section, capture what matters. Everything autosaves as you go, and your vault is end-to-end encrypted.

3

Choose your emergency contacts

Pick who can access your vault, when, and on your terms. They get a free emergency contact account, no full subscription needed.

How Emergency Contacts Work

You choose who gets in, and when.

Your vault stays locked to everyone but you. If one of your emergency contacts ever needs it, here's exactly how access works.

You name your emergency contacts

Choose the people you trust most. Each one sets up a free IvorySafe account of their own, with nothing to pay, so they're ready if the day ever comes.

They can report you, and a waiting period begins

An emergency contact can report you as deceased or incapacitated. That doesn't open your vault right away. First, a waiting period you set in advance has to pass, anywhere from six hours to two weeks.

IvorySafe checks in with you

During the waiting period you set for your emergency contacts, IvorySafe reaches out to confirm you're alive and well. Nothing is released while we wait to hear back from you.

You have the final say

If you respond to let us know you're okay, the report is cancelled and your vault stays private. Only if the waiting period ends with no response does access open to your emergency contacts.

You can update your emergency contacts and their waiting windows anytime.

The 2am scenario

Someone would eventually figure it out.

If the person you share your life with died tomorrow, you could call the bank. Sit on hold. Prove you're next of kin. Fax over a death certificate. Wait three weeks.

You could reset every password, one by one, except you don't know which email they used for each account, and some of them send the reset link to a phone number that's been disconnected.

You could go through every drawer, every filing cabinet, every old laptop, hoping you find the policy number for the life insurance you're pretty sure exists.

Or flip it.

If something happened to you tomorrow, they'd be the ones calling the bank. Sitting on hold. Resetting passwords they don't have the recovery answers for. Searching through drawers for things only you knew how to find.

Whichever side of this you'd be on, one thing is true: they'd be doing it while planning a funeral. While your kids are asking questions no one knows how to answer. While someone is supposed to be grieving.

Or it could all already be in one place.

Questions people ask

Common concerns, answered.

What happens if I forget my password?
Because IvorySafe is truly end-to-end encrypted, even we can't recover your password. That's what makes it secure, and it's also the trade-off. The best defense is using a trusted password manager, or keeping your password somewhere physically secure that you'll always be able to access.
Can IvorySafe see my data?
No. Your vault is encrypted on your device before it ever reaches our servers. We store the encrypted data, but we don't hold the key. Not our team, not law enforcement, not anyone who might breach our infrastructure. Only you, and the contacts you authorize.
What if I cancel my subscription?
You keep access through the end of your billing period. Annual subscriptions come with a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date you start; after that, no refunds on annual plans. Monthly plans aren't refunded but you keep access until the end of the month. After your access ends, we hold your encrypted vault for 60 days in case you change your mind. After that, it's permanently deleted. You can export your vault as a PDF from your settings at any time while you have access, so we recommend doing that before you cancel.
Who should I designate as an emergency contact?
Anyone you trust completely to make decisions on behalf of your family. Usually a spouse, sibling, parent, or close friend. They get a free emergency-contact account (no full subscription needed) and only gain access if you're reported as deceased or incapacitated, after the waiting window you set.
How long does it take to set up?
The initial quiz takes about 10 minutes. Filling out the vault is meant to be done at your pace. Most people complete the essentials in an hour or two, then update over time. Nothing is "due."
